Vendor profile

German linguist and recording engineer, EN into DE.

This page is for localization companies, publishers and studios who are sourcing a German resource and need the numbers before the call. Everything a vendor manager usually asks for is below, in the order it usually gets asked.

If you are sourcing from China, Japan or Korea, there is a section for that below, including the two German versions I have already shipped for Asian studios.

If you are a studio looking for the full service instead, the main site is the better read.

Three things you can book

You can book them separately or together. Most vendors can supply the first, and the second is the one that is usually hard to source.

Dialogue adaptation and translation

A translated line is not yet a line an actor can play. Adaptation times it against the source, fits the constraint the scene gives it, and rewrites until it sounds like German somebody would actually say. The adaptation is lip-sync where the engine demands it and time-constrained everywhere else.

It covers dialogue, UI and store pages. I build the glossary as I go and keep a query sheet running, so your writers answer each question once.

€0.10 / word · €0.05 editing

Recording engineering

I run Pro Tools sessions as recording engineer on your studio floor, from session prep, tracking, punch-ins and take management to cleanup and delivery to your naming convention. I work on site, next to the director.

This is the chair I sat in on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for GlobaLoc Berlin, and the work I do for Anakan (Lionbridge Games) and, since September 2026, Altagram. I learned Pro Tools under Otto Pinto at GlobaLoc Berlin.

Day rate on request · Berlin, elsewhere in Europe on agreement

German voice over

You get my own voice from a treated booth in Berlin, or a full cast from the Berlin voice pool with casting and remote direction. Sessions run over Source Connect, Zoom or SessionLinkPRO, whichever fits the actor.

Every line is spoken by a human, and casting, direction and mastering are quoted in one number.

Working with studios and partners in Asia

A growing share of the German versions I ship start life in Chinese, Japanese or Korean. This section shows what that looks like from your side.

Already shipped
German for Asian studios Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for Leenzee in China, and Crimson Desert for Pearl Abyss in South Korea.
How the work reaches me
Through the English localization kit That is the normal route for a CN, JP or KR title going into German, and the one I am set up for. I do not translate out of Chinese, Japanese or Korean, and I will say so rather than let a pivot language go unmentioned.
Time overlap
Your afternoon is my morning Berlin is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer. Shanghai and Beijing run six to seven hours ahead, Tokyo and Seoul seven to eight. Mail sent at the end of your working day is answered before your next one starts.
Cross-border payment
Wise, PayPal Business, bank transfer Whichever is least painful on your side. Invoiced in EUR, details settled case by case.
Working with LSPs
This is most of what I do Anakan (Lionbridge Games) and Altagram in Berlin book me the same way you would, and GlobaLoc did before them. I work as a German resource on their project, under their NDA, in their pipeline and file naming.
One thing to know upfront
The rate is the rate I do not bid against a discounted machine-translated word rate or take fuzzy-match deductions. The rate buys a German version somebody is answerable for. If your budget is built around a cheap post-editing pass, say so early and we will both save the call.

Onboarding

What I can return, and how fast.

  • Vendor forms and framework agreements come back within 24 hours, including supplier questionnaires and tax forms.
  • NDA first, before any strings, builds or scripts change hands. I bring my own template if you do not have one.
  • Test translations are fine. Up to 1,000 words is free, ahead of a real project.
  • Continuity: deliveries are staged, so finished batches already sit on your side. If I am out, a vetted colleague from the same pipeline picks up at the exact segment while I stay accountable.
  • Long-term work: the initial ship, then DLCs, updates, patch notes and live content.
  • No ISO 17100 certification. I am one person with a vetted network, not a certified agency. If your procurement requires the certificate, I am the wrong supplier and would rather say so now.

Shipped titles

This is a selection. Some studios credit external linguists and some do not.
